JENNIFER: ON PLACING A CHILD FOR ADOPTION + HAVING COMPASSION ON BIRTH MOMS + HOLDING JOY AND PAIN TOGETHER
When I heard Jennifer Wooley speak at a retreat last year, I knew I wanted to have her on the podcast. I was so affected–by her story, her perspective, her faith–that I wanted to share her voice with the world. Jennifer shares the perspective of both adoptive and birth mom, and she shares it with such a deep belief in the goodness and sovereignty of God. This episode, Jennifer and I talk all things adoption and birth parents, from the heart of a birth mom to talking to our kids about their birth parents to what it’s like to receive your adopted child from the hands of his birth mom. We share about how adoption reflects the beauty of the gospel and how everyone’s story is really about God’s glory. Then we finish on the important things…you know, like reality shows and podcasts. I was so deeply encouraged and challenged by our conversation, and I know you will be, too. It’s a good one, friends!
• The intro song, The Source, is brought to you by one of the best new worship bands out there, The Evidence. Yes, the frontman is my (talented, brilliant, adorable, Jesus-loving) cousin. No, that's not why I love them.
• Jennifer’s been listening to Ellie Holcomb. Check her out on Spotify.
