ANGELA: ON EMBRYO ADOPTION + LOVING IN OBEDIENCE + GOING INTO ADOPTION WITH NO UNDERSTANDING OF TRAUMA

ANGELA: ON EMBRYO ADOPTION + LOVING IN OBEDIENCE + GOING INTO ADOPTION WITH NO UNDERSTANDING OF TRAUMA

Talking to Angela Braniff was like chatting with an old friend. We met about a minute before hitting the record button, but we jumped right into all the things. After Angela gives the 1.5 speed rundown of how each child joined the family, we dial our focus into all things adoption. We talk embryo adoption, the call into this journey and saying yes to #8, stepping into adoption naive and with no understanding of trauma, choosing love when you don't feel it, and walking through domestic private adoption (again). We move on to chatting writing our books, pimento cheese, and our shared love for true crime podcasts. I thoroughly enjoyed these 41 minutes, and I know you will, too. It's a good one, friends.

The intro song, The Source, is brought to you by one of the best new worship bands out there, The Evidence. Yes, the frontman is my (talented, brilliant, adorable, Jesus-loving) cousin. No, that's not why I love them.

• If you’re interested in embryo adoption, check out Embryo Connections.

• Angela’s reading Dare to Lead by Brene Brown, and you should, too. In fact, just read everything by her.

• Angela and I are both fans of true crime podcasts. I added Live and Die in LA and Dirty John to my library, per Angela’s recommendation. And I highly recommend Up and Vanished, if you haven’t listened yet.

You can find Angela on YouTube at the This Gathered Nest channel and on Instagram at @thisgatherednest. Also give a listen to her podcast, The Sister Show.
