SHEA: ON THE GRIEF OF GOODBYE + PERSONAL CHILDHOOD TRAUMA + BEING A PART OF BIO PARENT'S VILLAGE
My friend, Shea Balajadia, has a beautiful way of seeing God’s hand at work in her story and sharing it all for His glory and the good of the others. This episode is chockfull of the discernment and compassion and hope she’s learned through her lessons–and she shares it all this week as a gift to us. We talk Shea’s own childhood trauma, the Filled Retreat, the grief of saying goodbye (and all kinds of grief), and coming alongside of bio parents as part of their tribe. I laughed, I cried - I hope you do, too. It’s a good one, friends.
• The intro song, The Source, is brought to you by one of the best new worship bands out there, The Evidence. Yes, the frontman is my (talented, brilliant, adorable, Jesus-loving) cousin. No, that's not why I love them.
• I met Shea at Filled West. If you’re looking for a time to connect with other foster/adoptive moms and be encouraged and refreshed, check out the Filled Retreat. Filled West is sold out, but Filled East has a few spots left!
• Shea’s reading the book of poems, She Wants to Forget, by R.H. Sin and listening to the Transformation Church Podcast.
• Check out Shea’s resource, The Single Mom, for all things single momming. She’s got a beautiful perspective, and you’ll learn and be encouraged.
