You Are Called to Foster Care
You are called to foster care. Yeah, you. Maybe not foster parenting, but foster care.
As in, getting involved in the life of foster families & children. Helping, serving, supporting. Caring.
Foster caring means showing up for kids & families to:
Pray, babysit, make a meal, set up a play date, give, mow a lawn, pick up a prescription, mentor, speak at your church, volunteer, become trauma informed, befriend a teenager, celebrate, sit as a support person at an IEP meeting, advocate in your community, ask, write an encouraging note, buy an outfit, serve a ministry, donate, take pictures, grieve, write court dates on your calendar, drop off a bottle of wine, post an article, speak up, give a date night, hold a crying baby, thank a social worker, drop off diapers, hold a hand at court, share a verse, host a dinner, remember their names, listen, educate yourself and others, make cookies, send a gift, ask questions. Care.
