You Are Called to Foster Care
You are called to foster care.
Maybe not foster parenting, but foster care.
As in: getting involved in the life of foster families & children. Helping, serving, supporting. Caring.
Foster caring means showing up for kids & families to:
Babysit, make a meal, set up a play date, give, mow a lawn, pick up a prescription, mentor, speak at your church, volunteer, become trauma informed, pray, befriend a teenager, celebrate, be a support person at an lEP meeting, advocate in your community, ask, write an encouraging note, buy an outfit, serve a ministry, donate, take pictures, grieve, write court dates on your calendar, drop off a bottle of wine, post an article, speak up, give a date night, hold a crying baby, thank a social worker, drop off diapers, hold a hand at court, share a verse, host a dinner, remember their names, listen, educate yourself and others, make cookies, send a gift, ask questions. Care.
Everyone has a part to play in caring for children in foster care.
