There is No One As Brave as a Kid in Foster Care
“I think you’re really brave.”
“But then why am I about to cry?”
“Brave people cry all the time! I think people are the MOST brave when they feel scared and sad and keep going!”
We talk about their challenges, their behaviors, their traumas, their needs. I think we should talk more about their bravery.
The extent of the loss, the sorrow, the uncertainty, the unfamiliarity—it’s unthinkable for such a little life and delicate heart to have to carry. But we can enter it all with them, and there is a God who already has.
There is no one as brave as a kid in foster care.
