A Forgiven Mom

A Forgiven Mom

I’m sitting here thinking about how I don’t really feel like a good mom. And how maybe you’re sitting there and thinking about how you don’t really feel like a good mom. And how maybe you see a picture of me looking like a good mom and feel even more like you are not a good mom.

So lean in close and hear it from me: We all feel this way. We know how epic and eternal this job of ours is. And we feel how deeply we want to do it well. And we know the record of the failings in our days. And we assume others are just better at it all.

You are not alone in these feelings. We’re all there with you. And you’re not alone in your failings. He is there for you.

He’s making you a “good mom,” changing you, from one degree to the next, to become more like Him.

And—praises—He’s loving you when you’re a “bad mom,” offering forgiveness, giving grace, bringing redemption, all despite yourself.

I’m not sure what kind of mom I am. But, before and above everything else, I know I’m a forgiven mom.
