KRISTIN: ON INVESTIGATIONS + PUTTING YOURSELF IN BIO FAMILY'S SHOES + THERAPY ALL AROUND
It makes sense that Kristin Berry would be my only repeat guest—she has enough good stuff to share to fill dozens of episodes, and I’ll take any excuse I can get to talk to her. This episode, I pull questions straight out of her new book, Honestly Adoption, and (big surprise) they’re questions straight from my own life. We talk reports and investigations, having compassion on biological parents and seeking to see this whole thing from their perspective, how to protect yourself from reports made by workers and the like, choosing the best therapist for your kids, knowing when to take the dive into therapy, and even pursuing therapy for ourselves. Kristin has so much wisdom to share, and she shares it generously with us this week. It’s a good one, friends.
• The intro song, The Source, is brought to you by one of the best new worship bands out there, The Evidence. Yes, the frontman is my (talented, brilliant, adorable, Jesus-loving) cousin. No, that's not why I love them.
• Kristin is reading and listening to Kristin Hannah’s The Great Alone and Max Lucado’s Anxious for Nothing.
